Annual Quiz Night with Falkland Cricket Club

On Friday evening, members of the club were joined by our friends from Falkland Cricket Club for the annual joint quiz night. It was a cracking event, packed with good food, great banter and even better company (and the occasional questionable answer). Many thanks to all who helped organise the evening, including Martyn, Stephen and Simon, along with our special guest quizmaster, Jack, who kept things moving and the ensemble (mostly) under control. Congratulations to the Cutlers from the cricket club, who emerged victorious, with Dev May’s youthful team finishing as worthy runners-up — proof, perhaps, that experience still counts for something!

Opening Scramble

We had almost 50 golfers out on Saturday braving everything the Scottish weather could throw at them — sun, wind, rain, hail, snow and even the occasional patch of blue sky — a full four seasons in one round at Falkland Golf Club! A fantastic turnout and a great way to get the season well and truly underway.

Congratulations to the winning team of Malcolm Milne, Niall Green, Paul Brown and Martyn Drysdale, who posted an impressive net score of 60.8 — clearly paying more attention to their golf than the weather. Rory Fraser claimed the longest drive, while Stephen Guy and Bruce Bennet showed the rest of us how it’s done by picking up the nearest-the-pin prizes.
